My friends,
I took great pleasure in writing this book for you as for so many years
you have been faithful to my cuisine and you have made La Cagouille what
it is today. It is not a traditional recipe book because for me "cooking is more than mere recipes". A recipe rarely comes from nothing. Through its history, it is often located at the crossroads of emotions and memories. Memories
of tastes and smells, paths formed in the mind through our habit and desire
for what we love, our experiences elsewhere, a table of friends... So many emotions, meetings, so many moments which have left their indelible mark on me, training my tastes and inspiring my cuisine. Is it knowledge? Rather, it is culture, and today I want to share it with you. Gérard |

| In
128 pages, you will find 65 recipes - that you have already tasted at La
Cagouille - and 80 original watercolours by Serge Benbouche. In a short introduction, he reminds us of the parth travelled to reach Place Constantin Brancusi! He then presents his recipes under two main titles: "La cuisine de la mémoire" and "La cuisine de La Cagouille". A summary of these two chapters is on page 3. At the end of the book there are a few indications on "how to "perfectly" cook La Cagouille" cuisine, followed by an index and a bibliography. |
